Go Ask ChatGPT Whether Dog Breeders Are a Good Thing
I’ll wait. Now think about where that answer came from. Somebody wrote the pages that model learned from. Somebody showed up online, year after year, with volume and consistency and a point of view. It was not us. We have spent two decades being notoriously bad at showing up online while other people told our story for us, and now those stories are being baked into the thing everyone asks first.
Here is what I told Tyson and Dale. This is fixable, and it is on us. Not AKC. Not somebody else. And there is one specific thing every parent club in the country could start doing this week that costs nothing, which I saved for the very end of the episode.
We Got Into Plenty More Than That
Why the judge approval process is quietly aging out some of the best dog people in this country, and roughly what it has cost me personally to get through one group. The reason nobody needs a new puppy anymore, and which two well intentioned programs got us there. Behavioral euthanasia, which I have done, will say so out loud, and fully expect to hear about. And what I think we ought to be measuring instead of ribbons, which is not champions produced.
